Day 12: Etosha (Afternoon game drive)

Good news and bad news. The good news is that Etosha appears to be teeming with wildlife. The bad news is there is no wifi, so I can’t post any of today’s photos (or the previous 3 days and next 3 days for that matter).

Afternoon game drive: we skipped checking in and went straight to a waterhole to get our first taste of the wildlife in Etosha; and by “taste” I mean full buffet…

…A tree full of Go-away birds (grey loories); named as such because their call sounds like they’re saying “g’waayyyy”…

…Elephant…

…Zebra with foal…

…And the waterhole, where we saw impala, giraffe, zebra, hyena, wildebeest, guineafowl, jackal, and a martial eagle…

We got to our accommodation at Namutoni (an old German fort) just in time for sunset, viewed from from the fort tower.

Dinner was yet another buffet. I feel like a car being topped up with fuel every time I drive around the block.

Surprise, surprise, tomorrow morning is another early start for a game drive before breakfast.
